We know that you care how information about you is used and shared, and we appreciate your trust that we will do so carefully and sensibly. This Privacy Notice describes how Check my Score and its affiliates (collectively "Check my Score") collect and process your personal information through Check my Score websites, devices, products, services, online stores, and applications that reference this Privacy Notice (together "Check my Score Services"). By using Check my Score Services, you are consenting to the practices described in this Privacy Notice.

  1. Information Collected by Check my Score.We collect your personal information to provide and continually improve our products and services. Here are the types of personal information we collect:
    1. Information You Give Us: We receive and store any information you provide in relation to Check my Score Services. This information may include yourname, address, billing information, phone number, IP address, email address, and other personal information you provide to Check my Score. To verify your identify and provide you with our services, we may request your Social Security number. Your Social Security number may be submitted to the credit reporting agencies to accurately identify your credit information.
    2. Automatic Information: We automatically collect and store certain types of information about your use of Check my Score Services, including information about your interaction with products, services, and content available through Check my Score Services. As part of our customer service and quality assurance commitments, we may record telephonic conversations you have with our customer service representatives or leave on our voice mailboxes. Personal information you provide over the phone may be collected in these recordings, as well as a record of the phone number from which you called. Like many websites, we use "cookies" and other unique identifiers, and we obtain certain types of information when your web browser or device accesses Check my Score Services and other content served by or on behalf of Check my Score on other websites. We may collect information about your usage of the Check my Score Services, such as the pages you viewed, the services and features you used or interacted with, your browser type and details about any links or communications with which you interacted. We may collect information about your device such as Internet Protocol (“IP”) addresses, log information, error messages, device type, and unique device identifiers. For example, we may collect IP addresses from you as part of our sign in and security features.
    3. Information from Other Sources: We might receive information about you from other sources, such as updated delivery and address information from our carriers, which we
    4. use to correct our records and deliver your next purchase more easily. Our services provide you with access to credit information from credit bureaus like Equifax®, Experian®, and TransUnion®. Much of the personal information we receive about you, including personal information contained in credit reports and credit scores, we request on your behalf, and per your written instructions, from credit bureaus. By enrolling in a service that allows Check my Score to track your third-party financial accounts on various websites, you grant Check my Score and its third-party providers, permission to access your third-party financial accounts designated by you. By using such services, you agree to the third-parties’ Terms of Service and Privacy policies.
  2. Amendments to this Privacy Notice. Check my Score may change this Privacy Notice from time to time, without notice. We recommended you to review this Privacy Notice each time you access the Check my Score Services or interact with the Check my Score website.
  3. Sensitive Personal Information. We do not intentionally collect any sensitive personal information about you, and we prefer that you not share this information with us. However, we process certain sensitive personal information about you for limited purposes. Examples of these purposes include:
    1. We collect your social security number and transmit it to the credit reporting agencies to ensure that we are providing you with accurate credit reporting information and not someone else’s information.
    2. We require account log-in credentials to ensure the security of your account. To protect the security of your log-in credentials, we store passwords in an encrypted format.
    3. We will retain your personal information only for so long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which we collected it, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal information, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal information; the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal information; the purposes for which we process your personal information and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means; and the applicable legal requirements. In some circumstances you can ask us to delete your data. In some circumstances we may anonymize your personal information (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for research or statistical purposes, in which case we may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.
  4. Our Use of Your Personal Information. We use your limited personal information to:
    1. Deliver Check my Score products and services as necessary to fulfill our obligations to you;
    2. To verify your identify to perform our contract with you;
    3. To provide you with important information related to your account with Check my Score;
    4. To maintain and improve the security and performance of Check my Score Services;
    5. To encrypt your data so it can no longer identify you;
    6. To make strategic decisions concrning our business operations;
    7. To comply with our legal obligations;
    8. To protect the rights, safety, and property of Check my Score, our users, and third parties; and
    9. To further the interests of our customers and other stakeholders in the business.
  5. Disclosure of Your Personal Information.Information about our customers is an important part of our business, and we are not in the business of selling our customers' personal information to others. We may share your information described above to the following categories of persons:
    1. Third-Party Service Providers: Service providers, including vendors, consultants, affiliates, and other parties who assist in our operations, or who perform services or functions on our behalf or per agreement with Check my Score. Our service providers include companies who support us with marketing, sales, data storage, web management, communications, software maintenance and support, analytics, social media, market research, auditing, security, user verification, localization, and payment processing. Our service providers process your information subject to contractual terms that restrict their ability to use your information.
    2. Transactions Involving Third Parties: Persons involved in the consideration, negotiation, completion of a business transaction, including the sale, merger, consolidation, acquisition, change in control, transfer of substantial assets, bankruptcy, or reorganization, and any subsequent integration.
    3. Law Enforcement: Persons to whom we are required by law to provide information, such as pursuant to a subpoena or a court order, and law enforcement, legal counsel, or other reasonably necessary parties when disclosure is reasonably necessary to prevent or respond to fraud or abuse, defend ourselves against attacks, or protect the rights, property, and safety of Check my Score, our customers, and the public.
    4. When We Have Your Consent: We may disclose your personal information to other parties when we have your consent to do so or when you direct us to, for any purposes requested or permitted by you.
  6. Your Control of Your Personal Information.
    1. Acquiring Your Personal Information.You have the right to access, update, and obtain a copy of your personal information.
    2. Editing and Deleting Your Personal Information.You may edit some of your personal information in your Check my Score account. You have the right to request that we delete personal information we process about you and close your account. We may retain certain data about you for legal and internal business purposes, such as fraud prevention, in accordance with applicable laws. We cannot delete personal information about you contained in a credit report, credit score, credit history, or otherwise provided by a credit reporting agency pursuant to the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
  7. Cookies and Other Identifiers.We use cookies, pixels, and other technologies (collectively, "cookies") to recognize your browser or device, learn more about your interests, and provide you with essential features and services and for additional purposes, including:
    1. Recognizing you when you sign-in to use our services. This allows us to provide you with personalized content, recognize you as a Check my Score member, and provide other customized features and services.
    2. Keeping track of your specified preferences. This allows us to honor your preferences, such as whether or not you would like to see certain personailized content.
    3. Conducting research and diagnostics to improve Check my Score’s content, products, and services.
    4. Preventing fraudulent activity.
    5. Improving security.
    6. Delivering content, including ads, relevant to your interests.
    7. Reporting. This allows us to measure and analyze the performance of our services.
    8. You can manage browser cookies through your browser settings. The 'Help' feature on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, how to block cookies, and when cookies will expire. If you block all cookies on your browser, neither we nor third parties will transfer cookies to your browser. If you do this, however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a site and some features and services may not work.
  8. Third-Party Advertising.
    1. Third-Party Advertisers and Links to Other Websites: Check my Score Services may include third-party advertising and links to other websites and apps. Third-party advertising partners may collect information about you when you interact with their content, advertising, and services.
    2. Use of Third-Party Advertising Services: We provide ad companies with information that allows them to serve you with more useful and relevant Check my Score ads and to measure their effectiveness. We never share your name or other information that directly identifies you when we do this. Instead, we use an advertising identifier like a cookie, a device identifier, or a code derived from applying irreversible cryptography to other information like an email address. While we do not share your specific shopping actions like purchases, product views, or searches with ad companies, we may share an advertising identifier and an estimate of the value of the ads they show you on our behalf so they can serve you with more effective Check my Score ads. Some ad companies also use this information to serve you relevant ads from other advertisers.
  9. Your Right to Opt-Out. You can opt-out of certain processing of your personal information by emailing info@check-my-score.com. Please note that opting-out of certain personal information processing may impact your ability to see certain information in your Check my Score account. For example, our inability to securely store your social security number will prevent us from accessing and providing you with your most recent credit information. You may also opt-out of certain marketing campaigns by clicking the “Unsubscribe,” “Opt-Out,” or “STOP” link in the communication you received, or by emailing us.
  10. Your Credit Information.Your Credit Information is provided to Check my Score by one or more of the three major credit reporting agencies that each provide their own score. If you think there are errors in your credit report, contact the appropriate credit reporting agency directly. You are also entitled to a free credit report every year that includes info from each of the three reporting agencies. If you wish to dispute the completeness or accuracy of any item of information contained in your file at a consumer reporting agency, you may do so by contacting the applicable consumer reporting agency.   12. Protection of Your Personal Information.
    1. We work to protect the security of your personal information during transmission by using encryption protocols and software.
    2. We follow the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) when handling credit card data.
    3. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards in connection with the collection, storage, and disclosure of customer personal information. Our security procedures mean that we may ask to verify your identity before we disclose personal information to you.
    4. It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computers, devices, and applications. We recommend using a unique password for your Check my Score account that is not used for other online accounts. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.
  13. Person’s Under the Age of 18. Check my Score does not sell products for purchase by children. If you are under 18, you may use Check my Score services only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18 without the consent of the child’s parent or guardian.
  14. International Users.We are headquartered in the United States, and the information we collect will be processed in the United States. Your personal information may be stored, transferred to, and processed in any country where we have facilities or in which we engage service providers. These countries may be outside the United States and may have different data protection laws than in the United States.
  15. Vermont Residents. Check my Score will not share your non-public personal information with unaffiliated third parties unless you authorize us to make those disclosures without your consent, other than as permitted by law. Further, we will not share credit reports with our affiliates without your consent.
  16. California Residents. California law provides additional rights to California residents regarding the collection and use of their personal information. However, these laws and regulations do not apply to information governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). In making our disclosures pursuant to this section, we do not include personal information: (i) obtained from or transmitted to a consumer reporting agency; (ii) contained in a credit report, credit score, or credit profile provided by a consumer reporting agency; and (iii) otherwise regulated under FCRA.
    1. If you reside in California, you have rights to access the specific pieces of your information, the right to know details about our processing of your information, the right to request deletion of your personal information, and the right to not be denied goods or services for exercising these rights.
    2. Check my Score does not sell personal information of its users as the term “sell” is traditionally understood. But “sell” under the CCPA is broadly defined. It includes the sharing of personal information with third parties in exchange for something of value, even if no money changes hands. For example, sharing an advertising or device identifier to a third party may be considered a “sale” under the CCPA. To the extent Check my Score “sells” your personal information (as the term “sell” is defined under the CCPA), you have the right to opt-out of that “sale” on a going-forward basis at any time.     3. 9 “Your Right to Opt-Out.” After 12 months, we may ask you if you want to opt into the “sale” of your personal information.
    4. Persons authorized to submit requests on behalf of a consumer (“agents”) can submit a request by email to info@check-my-score.com. We may notify the consumer and require the consumer to independently verify their identity before fulfilling the authorized agent’s request.
    5. Check my Score does not sell personal information of its users as the term “sell” is traditionally understood. But “sell” under the CCPA is broadly defined. It includes the sharing of personal information with third parties in exchange for something of value, even if no money changes hands. For example, sharing an advertising or device identifier to a third party may be considered a “sale” under the CCPA. To the extent Check my Score “sells” your personal information (as the term “sell” is defined under the CCPA), you have the right to opt-out of that “sale” on a going-forward basis at any time.     7. We have collected the following categories of personal information from consumers within the last twelve (12) months:
